Mt. Penn Fire Company

Back to school time

This coming Monday means back to school for a majority of Berks County students.  That means there will be extra traffic on the road, especially school buses.  We want everybody to have a safe year so if you don’t want to meet our friends in blue here are few tips for you about when & how you should stop for buses.

If you do decide to pass a bus loading or unloading children the following penalties will be imposed upon conviction….a $250.00 fine, 5 points on your driving record and a 60 day license suspension.  It really isn’t worth the extra minute or two to pass a bus so be patient, be alert and have a great school year!
