HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Well we’ve made it to the beginning of the end of the year. Thanksgiving is upon us and the holiday season officially starts despite what many stores would have you believe. We want everybody to be safe and enjoy time with family and friends.

Since everybody changed the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors a few weeks ago we should be good for some other holiday tips.

  1. When you are cooking keep all unnecessary people out of the kitchen, especially children. Many items are dangerous, from hot cooktops and coffee pots to knives, hot food, extra items laying around causing trip hazards, etc. Many kitchens in our area are fairly small so it is quite easy to become congested quickly.

2. Don’t drink and drive! Although this may seem obvious and repetitive…common sense people. The Thanksgiving holiday time is one of the busiest times of year for all travel. It is also one of the biggest drinking times of the year. Combine the two and tragedy could strike! Don’t be that person and don’t become a statistic!

The members of the Mt. Penn Fire hope that you have a great Thanksgiving! Stay tuned for upcoming information on the arrival of Santa Claus!
