Passing of long time member

The Mt. Penn Fire Company regrets to announce the passing of long time Fire Police Captain and Company Treasurer Anthony “Tony” Waldman on March 18th, 2015. Tony was the father of current company Chief Tim Waldman. He served the department for 25 years, first as Fire Police Captain and then was elected treasurer soon after, both posts which he currently held until his passing. He was also a member of the Washington Fire Co, Ladder 2 with the City of Reading. Visitation will be held at the Lutz Funeral Home in Mt. Penn on Sunday, March 22 from 1900-2100 with another visitation Monday, March 23 0900-1000. Services to follow at St. Catherine of Sienna Chapel 2447 Perkiomen Ave in Mt. Penn at 1030. Internment at Gethsemane cemetery to follow.

The officers and members of the Fire Company extend our deepest sympathy to the Waldman family at this difficult time and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come.

Our Mission

The mission of the Mt. Penn Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of the people of Mt Penn from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing Rescue services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a 100% Volunteer work environment that values health, wellness and cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
