Mt. Penn Fire Company

Turkey Time!

Well it’s time for turkey!  The Mt. Penn Fire Company wishes you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

As we head out to be with family and friends this holiday weekend please be careful driving.  The Thanksgiving holiday is typically the busiest travel time of the year and there are lots of extra people out on the roads.  In the past month several people have lost their lives on the roads in Berks County due to carelessness, inattention and speed.  Don’t add to the stats!  Leave a little bit early, be aware of changing road conditions, don’t drink and drive and put down your phone!

If you are cooking at home with family and friends do your best to keep the kitchen clutter free while dinner is being prepared as well as keeping small children away from the stove or oven.  As we said last month, every day is fire prevention day!  A little bit of caution and common sense will go a long way as the holiday season begins and by doing that many problems can be prevented.  We would like to see everybody happy and healthy in the new year so don’t be a turkey!
