Mt. Penn Fire Company

Alsace Township Crash

On March 14 shortly before 10a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Lower Alsace(Co4) and Muhlenberg(Co66) to the 300 block of Antietam Rd. for a vehicle crash with unknown injuries. On arrival Deputy 1(Eisenhard) reported 1 car into a tree and on fire and a patient laying in the field halfway between Basket Rd & Miller Ln. Arriving apparatus used 1 line to extinguish the fire while other personnel assisted EMS with patient packaging and getting him to the ambulance some distance away. They were transported to RHMC by Lower Alsace EMS. Many thanks go out to the passerby who got the driver out and took care of him until EMS arrived as well as directed traffic around the scene. Units were able to clear just before 10:30a.m. This crash is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
