Are You College Bound?

Are you done with high school and headed to higher education in Berks County? Were you a firefighter in your hometown and looking to stay involved in the fire service while you are away from home? We may have just the thing for you! We are taking applications for live-ins that have plans to continue their education at any of the 3 Berks County colleges, Alvernia (4.7 miles), Albright (3.8 miles) or Penn State Berks (10.2 miles). Come join us at at our prime location and save on room and board expenses!

We offer a modern station with bunkroom, washer and dryer, free internet and exceptional dayroom in a suburban location that is convenient to all 3 schools. Access to public transportation, the great outdoors and local attractions is a plus! In return for this deal live-in students will be required to assist with station chores and respond to calls. In order to be considered you must have the following:

Current enrollment in one of the 3 local schools, approved MPFD application, clean background check, completion of all modules of Essentials of firefighting with an SBS. Haz-mat operations, CPR/First Aid.

Penn Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of the people of Mt Penn from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing Rescue services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a 100% Volunteer work environment that values health, wellness and cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
