Mt. Penn Fire Company

The forecast is calling for…SNOW!

Now that it is just about spring it appears that we may get our first significant snowfall starting Monday night and going through Tuesday afternoon.  We will not speculate or guess on what the exact amount of accumulation will be, you can watch 10 channels and get 10 answers for that, however, we ask you to help us out and do one thing when the white stuff falls…..ADOPT A HYDRANT!  That’s right, please take a few minutes to clear out the snow and ice from around the fire hydrant nearest your house.  Heck, you don’t even have to do it alone, make it something to do with your neighbors!  It will save us valuable time in the event the hydrant needs to be used for an emergency when time is short.  It could save your neighbor’s house or even your own and we greatly appreciate the help.  The handy illustration below shows exactly what to do.
