Mt. Penn Fire Company

Independence Day is here!

Summer is just flying by! The MLB all star game is almost here, next month the kids will be back in school and before you know it Labor Day will be here. This year we celebrate our independence and freedom on Thursday but that won’t stop many from making it a long weekend. Be safe in all that you are doing whether it be a barbeque at home, a trip to the beach to go swimming or just driving somewhere else to see friends and family and have a good time. Let’s start next week in one piece! Take a few minutes this holiday to remember what it’s all about, a bunch of radical & treasonous men telling the most powerful country in the world that essentially, we’ve had enough! They pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to this document and the concept of Liberty. Since that time many more have fought and died to uphold and defend those ideals pledged 248 years ago. Let’s not forget them either.
