As many of you know, Ladder 1 was placed for sale recently and within a week it was sold to the Gladwyne Fire Company in Montgomery County(Station 24) who journeyed to Mt. Penn on July 3rd to take it to its new home where it will continue to serve the citizens as Ladder 24 for the next few years until their brand new ladder truck arrives. Things have come full circle for Mt. Penn as our original tiller truck came from Ardmore Fire Company just a few miles from Gladwyne. We hope that it continues to serve them well as it did for us. The new Ladder 1 is under construction with delivery expected in the late summer/early fall time frame. We are looking forward to it!
