On July 17th just after 12 noon, Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several mutual aid companies, to assist Exeter(Co25) with a reported structure fire at 4005 Circle Ave. First arriving units quickly called a working fire to the rear of the address where it was discovered a lawnmower and shed on fire. Within 5 minutes of arrival things were reported under control with overhaul. Companies were able to begin clearing the scene by 12:30p.m. The exact cause is under investigation.



Just after clearing the Exeter incident Mt. Penn was sent as the RIT company to 2318 Monroe Ave to assist Spring(Co85) on a reported structure fire. Arriving units had a shorted electric meter that had caught fire and extended into the walls and floors of the structure. As in Exeter this fire was quickly brought under control and units were able to begin clearing the scene by 1:15p.m.
Just before 2p.m. we assisted Lower Alsace(Co4) and Lower Alsace EMS(Squad555) in the 600 block of N. 25th St. with manpower to move a patient from the house to the ambulance. This call was cleared by 2:30p.m.
We got a break during the rain until almost 9p.m. when we were sent, along with Exeter(Co25) to assist Lower Alsace(Co4) on wires arcing at W. Prospect St. & Marshall Ave. It was determined that heavy vegetation was contacting power lines on the pole every time the wind blew. No fire department services were required and Met-Ed was notified.
