The morning of Monday March 23rd got off to a quick start for Mt. Penn. We were dispatched to a pedestrian crash in the 2400 block of Perkiomen Ave. just before 8a.m. No EMS or fire services were needed as the patient was transported by family to the hospital.
About 8:30a.m. we were dispatched, along with several mutal aid companies to 20 Church St. in the Seyfert section of Robeson Twp. to assist with a structure fire. First arriving units had fire showing and quickly struck a second alarm for more manpower. The fire was knocked down and marked under control about 90 minutes after dispatch. Fortunately nobody was home although the home suffered serious damage.

Shortly before noon we were dispatched to assist Oley with a vehicle crash in the 3000 block of Friedensburg Rd. Oley was busy on another crash with confinement just down the road from this crash. Crews arrived to find a school bus had gone off the road and struck a pole bringing down live wires which prevented the bus from being evacuated. Once power was secured all occupants were removed and checked for injuries. The roadway remained closed for several hours until the crash was cleared and Met-Ed restored power to over 700 customers.
