Mt. Penn Fire Company

Busy Friday Afternoon

On July 17th just after 4:30p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several other companies to assist Blandon(Co12) on a reported brush fire at 2020 Mt. Laurel Rd in Alsace Township.  First arriving units had heavy smoke from a deep seated fire on a steep embankment where old trees and brush had been dumped.  Heavy equipment had to be used to dig up & disperse the material while several hose lines were used for extinguishment.  Units were able to begin clearing just before 7p.m.

Then, just after 6:30p.m. a structure fire call was dispatched for 233 Gunhart Rd in Robeson Twp.  First arriving reported a working fire in a horse stall in the barn.  L1 crews assisted with overhaul and checking for hot spots.  Units were able to begin clearing shortly before 8p.m.
