Mt. Penn Fire Company

Early St. Lawrence Structure Fire

On June 18th just before 7:30a.m. Mt. Penn, along with several mutual aid companies were dispatched to the 3900 block of Penns Drive for a reported structure fire. First arriving units reported a working fire on the second floor front. One line was pulled as other crews performed ventilation and rescued the dogs still in the house. One dog was turned over to EMS due to smoke inhalation and they gave him oxygen and cleaned out soot. He was then turned over to the owner who took him to the vet to get checked out. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes and units remained on scene for another 40 minutes performing overhaul to ensure the fire hadn’t extended past the bedroom. Units were able to begin clearing just before 9a.m. The cause of this fire is under investigation.
