2nd Alarm Structure in Earl Twp

On February 13 at 11a.m. Engine 1 was dispatched along with several other companies for the 2nd alarm structure fire at 299 Manatawny Rd. in Earl Township.  Chief 19 reported a column of smoke from 1/2 mile out and fire through the roof on arrival.  Multiple tankers were used to supply water for the fire as crews had stretched several lines to all floors as well as the basement and roof.  Most of the fire was knocked down within 30 minutes.  The E1 crew joined the manpower pool and assisted with final extinguishment and overhaul, being able to clear the scene just before 1:30p.m.  The exact cause remains under investigation by the PA State Police Fire Marshall.
