Mt. Penn Fire Company

Early Morning Crash

Just before 2a.m. on January 6th Rescue 1 was dispatched to assist Lower Alsace (Co4) on a reported vehicle crash with unknown injuries in the 600 block of Carsonia Ave.  Arriving units found 2 vehicles, one in the northbound lane and one in the southbound lane that had collided.  There were also 2 other vehicles that were parked along the road that had been struck.  EMS transported one person to the hospital to be evaluated.  Crews disconnected batteries and applied oil dry to a large amount of downed fluids that were running down the gutter and then stood by to assist the tow company with the removal of all 4 vehicles.  Crews were able to clear shortly after 3a.m.  The crash remains under investigation by Central Berks Police.
