The brand new Ladder 1 has arrived! It was delivered Tuesday afternoon to our station by the Spartan/LTI staff and will be here until it goes out for tool and equipment mounting. In the meantime we will be conducting driver training and apparatus familiarization so that when it comes back we can place it in service. Feel free to stop by the station and have a look.
This apparatus is the culmination of over 2 years of talking, planning, getting bids and getting a list of specifications together along with a few road trips to see similar trucks at other departments including Philadelphia. Thanks to careful financial planning, our supporters, the Commonwealth of PA, our truck crew and a generous but anonymous donor this modern and state of the art truck will be able to serve the community for many years to come.
