Mt. Penn assists at AVCP 5k run

MtPennLA logo3

On Saturday April 30 the crews from Mt. Penn joined with Lower Alsace (Co4) to provide assistance for the Antietam Valley Community Partnership’s second annual 5K run.  The personnel provided extra eyes on the course and played a large part in assisting with traffic control as the racers crossed over the intersections along the route from Carsonia Lake and through the Pennside area.  Our own Deputy 1 (Wertz) decided not to help with traffic this year and instead took part as a contestant.  He had lots of support and encouragement and apparently quite the cheering section provided courtesy of Assistant 1 and the E1 crew as he neared the final leg, finishing with a time of 32:02.  Great job Jeff!  After the race the companies made their way to the rec center for refreshments provided by the sponsors.  Thank you AVCP for your efforts in the community!
