On September 22nd just before 3a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several mutual aid companies to 9 Pennwyn Terrace in the Boro for a reported deck on fire in the rear of the residence. First arriving units confirmed a working fire with extension into the house. Fortunately all occupants were able to safely evacuate. Several lines were pulled as others performed searches & began to open up walls and floors. The fire was placed under control by 3:30a.m. although crews remained on scene for a another hour performing overhaul to make sure there was no further extension.
