Structure fire in Robeson Township

On December 15, shortly after 2:30p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as the RIT company for a report of a structure fire at 101 Killian Dr. in Robeson Township.  Deputy 23 (Favinger) quickly made it a working fire and requested the next alarm due to the large column of smoke visible from a mile away.  Ladder 1 stopped on the way in to assist with the 5″ supply line from the hydrant.  Command released Mt. Penn as RIT and had another company dispatched as RIT as this fire quickly required all personnel on scene to get lines in service, open the building up and attack the fire.  Within 10 minutes command evacuated the building due to structural collapse of the roof and second floor and the fire was fought from the exterior.  One occupant was taken to the hospital for treatment and the fire was placed under control about 5p.m.  It is currently under investigation by the PA State Police Fire Marshal.
