2 Alarm Exeter Fire

Exeter Twp Fire Department

On February 8th shortly after 3a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several other mutual aid companies to the 100 block of Old Friedensburg Rd to assist Exeter(Co25) with a reported structure fire. First arriving units found a well involved attached garage with extension into the house. A second alarm was struck for additional manpower. Several lines, along with Tower 25, were used to fight this wind driven fire which eventually extended along the entire roof of the home. Several tankers were also added to provide water as this area lacks fire hydrants. Besides the fire and high winds crews also had to contend with single digit temperatures which prompted the dispatch of rehab units to provide food, drink and a warming area. Units were able to begin clearing shortly after 6a.m.
