Mt. Penn Fire Company

3 Alarms in Lower Alsace

On October 28th just before 3p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several other mutual aid companies, to 500 Carsonia Ave. for a reported structure fire with possible entrapment. Assistant 1(Lombardo) was in the area and quickly called a working fire as heavy fire and smoke was showing. Chief 4(Mountz) arrived and quickly called a second alarm. Crews entering the home were confronted with heavy fire and smoke as they advanced up the staircase and vented the roof in this very large home. A 3rd alarm was struck to bring additional manpower for overhaul as the homes construction quickly tired out crews pulling ceilings and walls. Under control was called shortly after 4p.m. and units began to be released around 5:30p.m. The cause is under investigation by the State Police Fire Marshal.
