Mt. Penn Fire Company

Alsace Structure Fire

On January 25th at 4:40a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with several other companies for a reported structure fire with entrapment in the 100 block of Magnolia Lane. Arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire throughout the home and one patient outside who was quickly taken by EMS to Lehigh Vally Hospital. They were advised of one resident still unaccounted for. As crews were making an attack, the fire conditions became untenable along with a partial roof collapse and they had to withdrawl for a few minutes. After reentering the bulk of the fire was knocked down in less than 30 minutes. As crews searched the other victim was located but was unfortunately deceased. Final extinguishment and overhaul took several more hours with units beginning to clear shortly after 8a.m. The scene was turned over to the State Police Fire Marshal who is continuing the investigation.
