Mt. Penn Fire Company

Alsace Township Crash

On July 29th just before 6p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Company 4 (Lower Alsace) and Company 5 (Oley) to the 1900 block of Friedensburg Rd for a crash with possible entrapment.  Chief 5 (Kline) arrived & confirmed everybody was out, one vehicle on its roof.  Oley handled one vehicle while Mt. Penn and Lower Alsace handled the second one which had come to rest a few hundred feet up the hill.  That patient was transported to the hospital while the second refused treatment after being evaluated by EMS.  Crews stood by until the tow company cleaned up and removed both vehicles.  All units were able to clear shortly before 7p.m.  The crash remains under investigation by the PA State Police Reading.
