On August 9, 2016 about 2:20p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as the second due Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) for a working structure fire at 28 Ivy Lane in Union Twp. at the request of Deputy 7 (Rhoads). The first crews on location had fire showing from the rear of the house with extension into the loft area and were able to knock it down quickly with several lines. Once the ladder arrived they were assigned to perform overhaul in the dining and living room areas so the other crews would be able to take a break on this very hot and humid day. No further extension was found and the scene was turned over to the fire marshal shortly after 4p.m.
