Assist on Reading City Structure

On August 14th just before 10:30p.m. Engine 1 was dispatched, along with Lower Alsace(Co4) and Exeter(Co25) on the second alarm to assist Reading City at 334 S. 17th St. First arriving crews had fire from the roofline and found the attic space well involved. Several lines, as well as the tower ladder were used to knock down the bulk of the fire within 25 minutes. All searches proved negative. County units were used to assist with extinguishment and overhaul as well as providing RIT services. County units were able to begin clearing shortly after 11p.m. The exact cause of this fire is under investigation.

Penn Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of the people of Mt Penn from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing Rescue services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a 100% Volunteer work environment that values health, wellness and cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
