Assist to Robeson Twp. on Structure Fire

As if one wasn’t enough for the day, just before 8p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as RIT to assist Gibraltar (Co23) and several other companiesfor a reported structure fire at 262 Seyfert Dr. in Robeson Twp.  Just as L1 was leaving station a responding chief confirmed a working fire with smoke visible from some distance out.  Arriving crews had a fully involved house with fire extending into the surrounding brush as well as possible involvement of power lines.  Command put all hands to work in order to secure a water supply and attack the fire. The next alarm was quickly struck for more manpower and tankers to assist on this narrow road with limited access to the scene.  Over 2000ft of 5 inch hose was laid to supply water to the fire.  The structure was severely damaged and the cause remains under investigation by the State Police Fire Marshal.  The Mt. Penn crew was able to return just before midnight although other units remained on scene well into the early morning hours.
