On December 8 about 10:45pm Mt. Penn was dispatched to 2505 Moselem Springs Rd. in Richmond Twp. on the second alarm for RIT at a working structure fire.  The first arriving crews from Walnuttown (Co32) and Fleetwood (Co45) had arrived with a well involved barn fire that was extending to other structures that housed farm equipment and livestock.  The crew quickly had their assignment changed from RIT to helping with the removal of several cows as well as trying to contain the fire to the original fire building.  Several alarms were struck as well as special calls for additional tankers as the location lacked fire hydrants and water had to be brought from other sources in the area.  Most of the fire was contained by 1:30a.m. with the Mt. Penn crew returning to station around 2:45a.m.  Other units remained on the scene throughout the day completing overhaul and extinguishing the remaining fire.  The cause remains under investigation by Fleetwood Police and the State Police Fire Marshal.
