On May 22 at about 2:30 in the afternoon, E1 was dispatched along with Exeter (Co25), Birdsboro (Co7) and West Reading (Co64) to a reported structure fire at 3806 Reiff Place. Additional information indicated a dryer on fire in the basement. Exeter crews found a well involved dryer with some extension to the structure and the entire house filled with smoke. E1 laid a 5″ supply line to Tower 25 in the event it was needed while the E1 crew did a secondary search as they were ventilating the structure and secured the electric panel. Damage was limited to the basement area. Crews were released within 1 hour.
