Mt. Penn Fire Company

Late night brush fire

Shortly after 11:30p.m. on March 8th, Engine 1 was dispatched, along with several other companies for a working brush fire at the Cumru Township end of Neversink mountain. Arriving units had difficulty making access from S 9th St as well as Ganter’s Lane due to narrow trails and steep terrain. This fire eventually went to 3 alarms before it could be contained and extinguished with units being released after 2a.m. The cause of this fire is being investigated.
