Late night Mt. Penn crash

Just after 10:30p.m. on July 9th, Mt. Penn & Lower Alsace(Co4) were dispatched to the area of Howard Blvd. & Dengler St. in the boro for a crash with unknown injuries.  Updated information from County stated that the occupants had apparently fled the scene.  Deputy 1-1( Eisenhard) arrived and confirmed the report, also confirming minor fluids down.  One vehicle had lost control and struck several other vehicles parked in the lot of Albert’s Auto Sales.  Rescue 1 reported normal flow of traffic and Company 4 was returned.  Crews controlled the fluids and then stood by until the tow company was able to remove the vehicle.   Central Berks Regional Police were able to soon track down the occupants and conduct their investigation.  Units were able to clear by 11:20p.m.

Penn Fire Company is to protect the lives and property of the people of Mt Penn from fires, natural disasters, and hazardous materials incidents; to save lives by providing Rescue services; to prevent fires through prevention and education programs; and to provide a 100% Volunteer work environment that values health, wellness and cultural diversity and is free of harassment and discrimination.
