Mt. Penn Fire Company

Mother’s Day on the mountain

Shortly after 9pm on Mother’s Day Engine 1 was called along with Alsace Manor (Co 8) and  Forestry (Co 81) to assist Lower Alsace (Co 4) with a brush fire just below the William Penn fire tower.  Crews found a working brush fire that was quickly growing due to the dry conditions and called Muhlenberg (Co 10) and City of Reading brush units for assistance.  An aggressive attack was made and crews were able to stop the fire’s advance.  They remained on scene o complete overhaul and returned to station shortly after midnight.
