On February 8 just after 2:00a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched at the RIT company on the second alarm for a structure fire at 2431 Morgantown Rd. near Flying Hills. The first arriving crews had a large and fully involved 2.5 story garage that was already beginning to collapse from the intense fire. It was used to store mower and other outdoor maintenance equipment belonging to a landscape contractor. Several lines were pulled to extinguish and contain the fire with Mt. Penn being released within an hour. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
