Mt. Penn Fire Company

RIT to Wyomissing

On February 11 shortly after 5a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as the RIT to assist Wyomissing Fire Dept (Co 79) and several other companies on a working structure fire at 1614 Penn Ave.  Arriving crews found heavy fire in the basement with smoke throughout the house.  As searches were underway other crews stretched several lines and were able to knock the fire down within 20 minutes.  All searches were negative although units remained on scene for several hours.  Mt. Penn units were released and able to return shortly after 6a.m.  This fire remains under investigation by Wyomissing Police and the Fire Marshal.
