Ruscombmanor 2nd Alarm

On Oct 6th just before 1:30p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched as RIT, along with several other companies to the 400 block of Oley Rd. in Ruscombmanor Township for a reported structure fire. It was quickly upgraded to a second alarm by Chief 34 as a column of smoke was visible from miles away. This brought Engine 1 to the scene as well as several other companies. First arriving units reported a home with heavy fire throughout and all occupants safely out. A fill site for tankers was established at the Oley Weis. Engine 1 was used at the scene to draft water from portable tanks to supply hoselines on the fireground. The fire was placed under control about 3:30p.m. although many companies remained on scene for several more hours performing overhaul. Mt. Penn units were able to clear shortly after 4:30p.m. The cause of this fire remains under investigatin by the State Police Fire Marshal.
