On October 1, Mt. Penn joined up with Exeter, Monocacy, Geigertown, Reading Scuba Team, Birdsboro, Exeter EMS and fire police from Cumru & Exeter Township as well as West Reading Boro to support the Home Depot in Exeter with their annual Safety Day Kids workshop. Participants were able to build and paint their own fire truck to take home with them. Just like the apparatus outside, the kids used a variety of colors for their creations and were then able to get a hot dog and visit with the firefighters outside to get an up close look at the apparatus and equipment they carried.
