St. Lawrence Structure Fire

MtPennExeter

On July 19, 2015 shortly before 5p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Exeter (Co 25), Lower Alsace (Co 4) and West Reading (Co64) to 3455 Stoner Ave. in St. Lawrence for a reported structure fire.  Exeter units reported smoke showing from their station as they responded and a second alarm with an additional EMS unit was quickly struck by command due to the high temperatures (mid 90’s) and humidity.  Arriving units found a 2 car garage at the rear of the residence well involved with power lines down which initially hampered firefighting efforts until they could be secured.  E1 laid a supply line from the scene to a nearby hydrant while the L1 crew assisted with pulling shingles and siding to expose any hidden fire.  4 lines were used by crews to contain and extinguish the fire with Mt. Penn units clearing shortly after 6p.m.
