Mt. Penn Fire Company

St. Lawrence Vehicle vs Building

On August 30 about 12:15p.m. Rescue 1 was dispatched to assist Exeter(Co25) with a reported crash, vehicle into building at the Turkey Hill in St. Lawrence. Arriving units found exactly that, a car through the front of the building. Fortunately nobody including the driver was injured. Crews checked for fluids down and other hazards with none being found. The scene was turned over to management and Central Berks Regional Police for further investigation and followup. The Dept. of Agriculture was also notified due to the large amount of food products damaged. Units were able to begin clearing the scene shortly after 12:30p.m. The exact cause remains under investigation.

On a side note, this is exactly the same thing that happened to the Turkey Hill on Perkiomen Ave. in Mt. Penn a few years back although damage at that incident wasn’t quite as severe.
