Two Assists to Lower Alsace

On June 5 about 12:15p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched to 11 Wilson Ave. to assist Lower Alsace(Co4) with a person stuck under a vehicle.  Arriving crews found that the patient was not trapped anymore but was seriously injured and had been down for an unknown time.  Crews assisted EMS with patient packaging so they could transport to the hospital where, unfortunately, the victim passed away 3 hours later.  Deputy 4-1(Mountz) special called Rescue 25(Exeter) to assist with getting the vehicle safely lowered which was accomplished with low pressure air bags.  All units were able to clear by 2:30p.m.

Just after 5p.m. units from both companies were dispatched to Angora Rd. near Hill Rd. for a vehicle crash with injuries.  Arriving units found the crash to be at the sharp bend by the Antietam Lake parking lot.  Fire crews assisted with powering down the vehicles, containing spilled fluids and helping EMS with patient packaging for transport to the hospital.  All units were able to clear shortly after 5:30p.m.  The crash is under investigation by Central Berks Regional Police.
