On February 28 just after 1p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Lower Alsace (co4) for a reported vehicle into a building at the Mt. Penn Turkey Hill located at 2450 Perkiomen Ave. When Chief 1 (Waldman) arrived he confirmed one vehicle completely inside of the store. The crew from the rescue checked for fluids and structural damage and E4 stood by at the nearby hydrant in the event a line would be needed. Fortunately there were no injuries and the vehicle was not leaking any fluids. The police determined that the driver was pulling into a parking space and accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Once the vehicle was removed it was confirmed that only the storefront windows and frames had been damaged by the impact. All companies were able to clear the scene by 1:20p.m.
