On April 10th shortly after 6:30p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several other companies, to 21 S. 23rd St. in the borough for a reported structure fire. First arriving units confirmed a working fire on the second floor. Two lines were pulled and a second alarm was called to bring additional manpower to the scene. Fortunately all of the occupants were able to safely evacuate. The fire was confined to a bedroom and a bunk bed although other areas had smoke and water damage. It was placed under control within 20 minutes with units clearing the scene shortly after 7:30p.m. This fire remains under investigation.

On April 11th shortly after 2:30a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched for RIT on the second alarm for 45 Harry Ave. in Cumru Township. Before U1 arrived on scene E1 was dispatched as an additional engine on the same call. The first arriving units confirmed a well involved structure fire with everybody evacuated. Multiple handlines and a master stream from L57 were used to knock down the large amount of fire from the exterior so crews could make entry for extinguishment and overhaul. Unfortunately the home is a total loss and the exact cause remains under investigation. Units were able to begin clearing around 4a.m.
