Mt. Penn Fire Company

Alsace Township Crash

On May 6th shortly after 7:30p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with EMS, Blandon(Co12), Laureldale (Co13) and Muhlenberg(Co66) to the 2900 block of Pricetown Rd. for a vehicle crash with entrapment, fire and reported into the house. First arriving units confirmed the report except for the fire. They quickly stabilized the vehicle and removed the lone occupant within 5 minutes and turned him over to EMS for transport to Reading Hospital Trauma. Crews checked the home noting serious structural damage inside. Rescue 1 remained on the scene until the vehicles were removed by the tow company. Fire police controlled traffic until being released about 10p.m.

It appears that the involved vehicle lost control eastbound on Pricetown Road, struck a vehicle parked in a driveway and then struck the home before landing against the house upside down. The cause of this crash is under investigation by the State Police at Reading.
