Assist to Exeter on structure fire

On December 20 just after 5:30p.m. L1 was dispatched along with Exeter (Co25) and Birdsboro (Co7) to a reported structure fire at 125 Shelbourne Rd in Exeter for a reported bush on fire next to the home.  Arriving crews found that the bush had burned but had extended to the side of the house as well and spread up the side all the way to the roofline.  Command made it a working fire and also had next due RIT dispatched which brought E1 to the scene.  The fire was quickly knocked down with one line but the fire caused a heavy smoke condition inside the home.  Crews spent the next hour ventilating and opening up the wall spaces inside and out while checking for extension.  6 residents of the home were provided aid by the Red Cross.  The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
