Mt. Penn Fire Company

Exeter Township structure fire

On December 22 at 12:45p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched along with Exeter (Co25), Lower Alsace (Co4) and a Reading City engine to 1315 Butter Lane for a report of a vehicle on fire in a garage.  Arriving units found the vehicle as well as the attached garage well involved.  Several lines were pulled from E1 to contain and extinguish the fire.  The vehicle and garage were destroyed but extension to the house was limited to the kitchen area with smoke damage throughout the house.  Crews were able to clear the scene in about 90 minutes. The cause remains under investigation by the Exeter Twp. Fire Marshal.
