On April 15 just after 1:00pm  Mt. Penn was dispatched to assist Co 4 (Lower Alsace) with a reported brush fire in the area of the fire tower at 621 Skyline Dr.  E1 arrived and sent its crew over the wall to help with finding the specific location of the fire which was found to be between the Bridal Path trail and Oak Ln.  Crews had a working brush fire covering between 7 and 10 acres and spreading rapidly due to dry and windy conditions.  Several air drops were required by Forestry crews to slow down the rapid advance and then numerous brush units and Forestry crews  moved in to extinguish and overhaul the fire scene in the steep terrain.  Crews were released after almost 6 hours of firefighting and supplying water for extinguishment.
