Mt. Penn Fire Company

Early Morning Exeter Structure

On February 11th just before 5a.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with several other companies, to assist Exeter(Co25) on a reported structure fire at 2 Courtleigh Place in the Crestwood section of the township. First arriving units reported heavy smoke and fire from the roof area. A second alarm was quickly struck to bring additional manpower and apparatus to the scene. Ladder 1 and Tower 25 handled opening the roof while other personnel used 3 lines to knock down the heavy fire in the roof and attic area. Fortunately, all of the occupants were able to evacuate safely. The fire was placed under control in about 30 minutes with extensive overhaul needed in the roof area. Units were able to begin clearing the scene shortly after 6a.m. The exact cause of this fire is under investigation.
