On October 22, just before 4a.m. L1 was requested on the 3rd alarm to cover for L10 to Box 9-03 at 645 N 9th. St for a working fire involving multiple residences. City crews were confronted with heavy fire in the rear of the structures on their arrival with significant extension. They also removed a semi responsive individual from one of the involved buildings. Using the ladder pipes and lots of truck work kept the fire from going any further. Mt. Penn crews assisted with extinguishment and overhaul in several of the buildings before returning to station just before 7a.m.
