Mt. Penn Fire Company

Man rescued from woods

On June 12th shortly before 6:30p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched to assist Exeter Twp. (Co25) with the rescue of a male who was riding his bicycle and became injured after going off a small cliff he did not see along the Antietam Creek. The original location was in St. Lawrence at Happy Landings playground. After some extensive hiking & searching the male was located in the woods behind the Reiffton Elementary School in Exeter Twp. EMS stabilized & packaged the patient while awaiting more personnel to move him. Lower Alsace (Co4) was also requested for their ATV. Mt. Penn then relocated to the Exeter side, took a hilly hike & prepared a rope hauling system in the event it would be needed for plan B. Fortunately plan A worked & the victim was removed from the St. Lawrence side and taken to the hospital for treatment. Units were able to clear just before 6:30p.m.
