mtpennlogo

On July 9, just before midnight Mt. Penn was dispatched, along with Lower Alsace (Co4), Exeter (co25) and Birdsboro (Co7), to 203 Endlich Ave. in the boro for a reported structure fire, all occupants reported out.  Deputy 1 (Wertz) arrived first and reported a working fire with heavy smoke on the second floor.  E1 arrived and their crew pulled one line while the Lower Alsace crew secured a water supply from a nearby hydrant.  The L1 crew set the main ladder and placed ground ladders to the front and rear with the help of the Exeter crews who also assisted with ventilation of the fire building and the adjoining homes.  The fire was confined to the closet area of a second floor bedroom with no extension and placed under control within 20 minutes.  Crews remained on scene for another hour performing overhaul and securing their equipment.  The exact cause is under investigation by the Fire Marshall.
