Structure fire in Exeter

MtPennExeter

On September 24, just after 1:30pm Ladder 1 was dispatched to 912 Guilford Ct. in the Eastwick at Exeter development for a reported structure fire to assist Exeter Fire (Co25).  Crews arrived to find a fire that involved the 2nd floor deck area with extension into the structure.  Command quickly struck a second alarm due to the high hazard occupancy which brought Engine 1 to the scene as well.  Crews made an interior attack and quickly got the fire knocked down while the L1 crew vented the roof. Extensive overhaul was needed to ensure there was no extension to other areas of the structure.  Two apartments were heavily damage and the township fire marshal has attributed the cause to carelessly discarded smoking materials. Crews returned to station shortly after 3p.m.
