Mt. Penn Fire Company

2 Alarms in Earl Township

On February 25th shortly before 5p.m. Mt. Penn was dispatched on the second alarm as an additional RIT company to assist Earl Township on a working structure fire at 19 Club Rd. First arriving units found a home with heavy smoke and fire showing and quickly called the 2nd alarm to bring additional resources. Fortunately, all occupants were able to safely evacuate. Due to lack of hydrants in the area numerous tankers were utilized to supply water for firefighting efforts with water being drawn from a nearby pond. The Mt. Penn crew was used to provide additional manpower for fire suppression efforts. The fire was placed under control just before 6p.m. although units remained on scene for several more hours performing extensive overhaul to ensure the fire was out. Damage to the home was extensive and the fire remains under investigation.
